ITV has announced that Bradley and Barney Walsh will return for a sixth series of their hit show “Breaking Dad,” with the pair heading to Asia for their latest adventure. The new six-part series will see the father-son duo exploring Japan and Thailand, combining cultural experiences with adrenaline-fueled challenges.
The format remains true to its successful formula, with Barney continuing to push his father Bradley beyond his comfort zone through a series of adventurous activities. Bradley, known for hosting “The Chase,” admits to some trepidation about his son’s plans: “It’s so good to be back on the road again with Barney. We really do have the best time but I’m not quite sure what he has up his sleeve on this trip, which is slightly worrying.”
Barney Walsh expressed enthusiasm about their Asian adventure, saying, “I’m excited to get stuck into this new adventure with my dad, and get him to experience the local cultures in Japan and Thailand. It’s going to be an exciting and adrenaline fuelled road trip with lots of fun and laughter.”
The show, produced by Hungry Bear Media, has become one of ITV’s most popular factual entertainment series. Dan Baldwin, Managing Director at Hungry Bear Media, highlighted the show’s unique appeal: “Bradley and Barney reflect so many father and son relationships up and down the country. This trip is one of the funniest, dangerous and most heart-warming yet.”
Sue Murphy, Head of Factual Entertainment at ITV, praised the duo’s “inimitable charm” and their ability to create engaging television as they venture into Asia. The new series will be available on ITV1, ITVX, STV, and STV Player, with an air date to be announced.
The previous five series have seen the Walshes traveling across various destinations, including Europe and the Americas, consistently drawing strong viewership with their blend of adventure, humor, and heartwarming father-son dynamics.
